Black Stilt - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

Black Stilt - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

This illustrated greeting card is from a series featuring some of the rarest birds of New Zealand. The birds chosen for this series have particularly special conservation stories. These stunning birds are Black Stilts, also known as Kaki.

About Kaki: These delicate long legged birds are considered to be the rarest wading bird in the world. Kaki used to be the common Stilt around New Zealand, but multiple factors have contributed to their population to drastically decline. There are currently only 106 adult birds in the wild but their population is slowly increasing with help from captive breeding programs.
