Fairy Tern - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

Fairy Tern - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

This illustrated greeting card is from a series featuring some of the rarest birds of New Zealand. The birds chosen for this series have particularly special conservation stories. These precious shorebirds are Fairy Terns, their Maori name is Tara Iti.

About the Fairy Tern: The Fairy Tern is New Zealand's most endangered bird. There are only 40 left, a devastatingly low number. They are under threat from habitat loss, environmental factors, introduced pests, human and dog behaviour, life is tough for these birds. During breeding season conservation rangers and volunteers watch over the nesting birds and their young chicks to help give them the best chance at survival.
