Kakapo - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

Kakapo - New Zealand Bird Illustrated Greeting Card

This illustrated greeting card is from a series featuring some of the rarest birds of New Zealand. The birds chosen for this series have particularly special conservation stories. This big green parrot is a Kakapo.

About the Kakapo: Kakapo are truly unique birds, they are large, nocturnal, flightless parrots. They are one of the longest living birds in the world and are only found in New Zealand. Their population is around 150 birds and although it is a low number it is considered to be relatively stable. Kakapo are treasured throughout NZ and are even known around the world thanks to their 'spokesbird' Sirocco and his famous antics.
