calendars

It’s been a long time coming, but my calendars are finally here! I have now opened pre-orders for my calendars and this year there are a few options. I have made a ‘Birds of New Zealand’ calendars featuring original illustrations of most of the birds in NZ, and also a Black and White illustrated calendar with a birds in nature theme.

Both calendars are available in different sizes and binding options. I have made the A4 calendars with paper binding (an eco-friendly alternative to wire binding) and the A3 calendars come in options of either paper binding or a wooden hanger (as in previous years). I made a bunch for my Otari Pop Up market at Otari-Wilton’s Bush last month and they were a real hit, I got great feedback on them, so fingers crossed they are worth all the hard work!

This year I chose to take pre-orders for the calendars for a few reasons. The first one is to help towards the printing costs - which is a huge challenge for an independent creative like me! The other reason is that it gives me a bit of breathing space to build up enough stock to supply to shops (I hand bind all the calendars so they take a long time) and it allows me a week or two to work on a few things that I just haven’t had the time for!

I’ve neglected my ceramic ideas these past few months because I’ve been working non stop on my calendars, but now that my calendars are printed I can focus on bringing lots of my ideas to life. By Christmas I hope to have a nice little collection of ceramics goods. I just need the time to make them!
