Springing saddleback features one of our rarest forest birds, a tīeke / saddleback.

Tīeke are one of our rarest and most treasured forest birds, they are found only in fenced sanctuaries and offshore islands where they are safe from introduced predators. They can usually be seen in pairs or groups on the forest floor, foraging for food while making deep melodic calls to each other. Tīeke have an amazing ability to spring from branch to branch effortlessly as they move around the forest.

This art print is based on an original hand-painted gouache artwork. Each print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag paper.
