Winter tomtits features a pair of miromiro / tomtits perched on a fern covered branch.

Miromiro are small forest birds, the males are striking with their black and white colouring whereas the females are subdued brown, but are equally adorable. This illustration is inspired by my delight in finding tomtits close to home when I moved to the Bay of Plenty during winter. I found one pair tending to a nest of chicks and loved watching them raise their family.

This art print is based on an original hand-painted gouache artwork. Each print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag paper.
