Whio flow features a pair whio, also known as blue ducks.

Whio are special ducks that live in gnarly conditions - fast-flowing rivers and streams. They are perfectly adapted to their environment but are easy prey for stoats and suffer from pollution that degrades the water.

This print is inspired by my first encounter with wild whio on the Tongariro river. I was blown away by how easily they navigate the rapids and how incredibly they camouflage into their habitat.

This art print is based on an original hand-painted gouache artwork. Each print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag paper.
