‘Kererū pair’ features a pair of our most beloved birds, the kererū. This hand signed high quality pigment art print is based on an original gouache illustration by Melissa Boardman.

Kererū are distinctively large, beautifully coloured native pigeons. They are mostly silent when perched amongst the trees, except for a ‘coo’ to their mate if they are nearby. Kererū are given a rather unfair clumsy label as they are often seen crash landing into trees but they are incredibly graceful in flight. These big beauties are very important to the future of our native forests as they are a keystone species for spreading the seeds of native trees and plants.

This print is created with long-lasting matte pigment inks on textured, high quality archival 100% cotton rag. (Cotton rag is an environmentally responsible paper made from lint fibres - a by-product of the cotton industry).
